Fortnite took the world by storm in 2017, quickly becoming the most popular game and amassing over 350 million players in 2020. Serving as a direct competitor to PUBG: Battlegrounds, Fortnite became a cultural phenomenon, and popular content creators continue to find success playing the game. Yet, outside the wacky dances, build battles, and epic Victory Royales, this colorful battle royale has a very deep and comprehensive storyline that has been running in the background since the beginning.
The long, ridiculous full story of Fortnite traces all the way back to Season 4 and has continued all throughout the game's lifetime. From the introduction of a secret organization and in-game rocket launches, to giant robot battles and a full-scale war on the island, Fortnite has come a long way since its 2017 release date. The Fortnite storyline is long and intricate, and while Chapter 3 Season 3 is still unfolding, fans are already wondering what might happen next. Here are all the Fortnite story videos so far.
Going off of the countdown for the Battle Pass, Chapter 3 Season 3 will come to an end on September 17, 2022. This long wait will give players another few months to enjoy Season 3 and all it has to offer, such as new locations, the Battle Pass that lets players unlock the Fortnite Darth Vader skin, and much more. Despite all the changes and frequent updates that Season 3 is receiving, fans are eagerly speculating what might happen come the release of the new season.
While nothing is confirmed yet, there are many theories of what could be on the horizon. With the appearance of the Reality Tree and its tendency to alter many of the Fortnite island locations throughout the course of this season, there is much speculation on how it might drastically change the map in the future. This is clearly an ongoing trend throughout the history of the game, as The Zero Point has also drastically altered the entire playable space in the past by pulling locations from other realities into the universe of Fortnite. Perhaps the Reality Tree will take over, possibly changing the current good-vibes atmosphere into something much more dreary.
When Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 brought Reality Seeds to the game, players were greeted with a new story cinematic that showcased the island inhabitants celebrating their victory against The Imagined Order's forces. However, despite the lighthearted tone throughout the video, there seems to be something sinister amidst the good vibes and joyriding chaos of the Fortnite map. This comes in the form of a menacing-looking figure watching over the Fortnite world at the end of the cinematic.
While there is no confirmation by Epic Games on who or what this character is, there is the theory that this character might be the next major villain of the popular battle royale game. Due to the character's remarkable resemblance to the Reality Tree, the community has dubbed it the Bloomwatcher, and with this entity holding the island within the palms of its hands, it just might have ill intentions for The Loopers. Much like Galactus, who showed up during an event that brought a record number of players to Fortnite, The Bloomwatcher just might be drawn to the power of The Zero Point, potentially seeking to control it for its own nefarious goals. The Cube Queen, aliens, and even The Imagined Order all seem to be infatuated with controlling The Zero Point, so it is a likely possibility. This mysterious character may also have some relation to Geno - another big bad in Fortnite that lingers in the darkness.
Not much is known about Geno, but this antagonistic force seems to be working in the background of the Fortnite story. Geno is the leader of the Imagined Order and has orchestrated much of the organization's actions throughout the timeline of the game. Geno last appeared within The Zero Point during the recent mech-battling Collision event of Chapter 3 Season 2, and with his in-game introduction, Jonesy and The Foundation jumped through the portal after him. The two characters are later seen gliding through the air of what appears to be an alternate reality, but not much is known of exactly where they ended up and what transpired following the event.
Jonesy and The Foundation were not gone for long, and both show up in the cinematic for Chapter 3 Season 3. It's unclear if the two actually managed to find Geno, and if they did then even less is known about what transpired following the Collision Event. However, Jonesy and The Foundation appear to be completely fine after re-emerging, so perhaps they avoided a conflict with the leader of the Imagined Order.
For now, the story of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 is shrouded in mystery. Players can enjoy the No Sweat Summer rewards, including all new Back Blings, Pickaxes, and a summer-themed item shop, as well as all new challenges to level up their Battle Pass, all while voting on new building designs for Titled Towers throughout the coming weeks. Fans still have a long way to go until the launch of the next season, and while many questions are left unanswered regarding the next major development of the storyline, Fortnite is still receiving frequent updates and changes to the loot pool which will most definitely pass the time until then.
