Bray Wyatt hasn't been seen inside a wrestling ring since April 2021. He was released in July of last year but could be hinting at returning to WWE.

Triple H isn't expected to slow down his push to add talent to WWE, and Bray Wyatt may be hinting at returning to the company based on a cryptic post on Twitter. Few professional wrestlers are as good on the platform as he is, and Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda, knows how to generate interest with his use of words, whether inside the ring or online. The former Universal Champion has always leveraged his creativity to get fans talking.

At one point, Windham's character, The Fiend, was one of the most over acts in WWE. A sequence of baffling booking decisions and the lack of fans due to Covid restrictions eventually took all the wind out of his sails. His match with Seth Rollins at Hell In A Cell (2019) is one of the most universally panned in company history. Feeding him to Bill Goldberg in a glorified squash match at Super Showdown in 2020 didn't do him any favors either. By the time WWE released Windham in July last year, he had virtually no momentum left and hadn't wrestled since losing to Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37 in April of 2021.

Due to his creativity and ability inside the ring, Windham has been one of the top free agents in the business for more than a year. As such, whenever he takes to an online platform and writes one of his enigmatic messages, fans flock to it and attempt to decipher what it all means. His most recent post on Twitter, via his @Windham6 handle, is no exception.

On the surface, it's a love letter to professional wrestling. Windham references wrestling legends such as Ric Flair, The Undertaker, and The Rock. The line about wrestling not being a love story, its hope seemed to strike a particular chord with the IWC, and with good reason. In this tweet, the former Bray Wyatt manages to answer a question that many wrestling fans grapple with: "why do you like this stuff? You know it's fake, right?"

Over the last year, AEW supporters have been hoping to see Windham's creativity on display in AEW. Audiences already saw what Vince McMahon did with his genius, and that's run it straight into the ground. With Triple H calling the shots in WWE now, though, perhaps that could change how Bray Wyatt views his options. Tony Khan has been struggling to book consistently great shows as of late, and there's the perception that WWE is starting to pick up steam. Perhaps the lights will go dark, and the fireflies will come out again as Wyatt slowly makes his way to the ring sooner rather than later.
